1969
Venus Jewel founded by Mr. Ramniklal Shah and Mr. Sevantilal Shah.
In 1985 Mr. Anil Shah joined the family business followed by his
cousin brothers Mr. Rajesh Shah and Mr. Hitesh Shah representing
the second generation. Ethics and Integrity remained the fulcrum
and were instilled right from the inception.
1978
Establishment of unique incentive / penalty based highly motivational
wage system, aimed at maximizing value addition.
1986
We started our own diamond-manufacturing unit with observance of
statutory regulations and various staff welfare measures. Developed
an efficient, motivating and ethical work culture pioneered by
the company has become a benchmark for the entire diamond industry.
1987
Application of Information Technology
(IT) at an early stage allowed our business to be more transparent,
flexible, controlled and
predictable.
1988
Started manufacturing of “2 carats” and up thereby
pioneering the concept of high value diamond processing in India.
This consolidated our position as India’s leading manufacturer
and exporter of bigger size diamonds. Ever since, we maintained
and strengthened our position as leader in manufacturing Solitaires.
1996
Through extensive research, developed and
introduced proprietary Venus Grading System (VGS) & selling of individual pieces
in their own self-descriptive packets. VGS specifies for every
diamond a total of 16 grading parameters, thereby enabling accurate
and detailed grading. Further critical sub-divisions of these
16 attributes in all, enables rational and logical price derivation
of each diamond – giving new meaning to the words ‘transparency’ and ‘consumer
confidence’.
1997
Launched www.venusjewel.com and
the unflinching credibility through transparent and ethical
business practices
coupled with trust
in our grading system resulted in 37% of B2B sales coming
through our website in the year 2006.
2001
Started the Superannuation Scheme (pension scheme) and we have
voluntarily made substantial contribution to take care of social
part of our business.
2002
Our major manufacturing project of US $ 12 million started functioning
in June. A centrally air-conditioned 8 storey factory premises
of 260,000 sq. ft. of area on a 5-acre plot, providing excellent
working environment and promoting a dynamic work culture.
2003
Introduced Confirmed Order Requirement (COR) in July, a revolutionary
system of buying diamonds on specification without personal inspection.
Apart from boosting consumer confidence in the business integrity
of the company, the system alone contributed to 12.31% of sales
in less than six months since introduction.
2005
Hosted an in-house web server, providing
the entire inventory on real time basis, adding further ease
and convenience to the online
buyers.
2006
Customer trust and confidence reposed in
our detailed grading system can be seen from the fact that more
than 19200 solitaires were sold
through www.venusjewel.com,
without any third party certification and all were as confirmed
sales. Despite precarious market situations and turbulent conditions,
a 10% growth was recorded over 2005.
Amongst
the few in the industry to introduce various policies
for overall employee welfare, like pension schemes, group
life cover, provision of hygenic food and on the whole providing
a safe & secured
